N.Y. Times to Charge

PAID CONTENT FREE HERE: Count the N.Y. Times as the latest publication to go behind a pay firewall, starting Jan. 2011, according to the Wall Street Journal, itself a pay site. Among major publications, both Newsday and Variety are now paid sites as papers scramble for new sources of revenue amidst declining ad sales. (5/14p)
