Neil Smith to Sony

MR. SMITH GOES TO SONY: Neil Smith is named SVP U.S. Business Development, Global Digital Business for Sony Music Entertainment, it was announced by EVP Global Digital Music Michael Paull. Smith will oversee all new business development, as he looks to increase revenue and expanding distribution of the company’s digital products through new business models and revenue streams with new and existing partners. Smith joins Sony Music from Rhapsody, where he was SVP Business Development. Prior to that, he spent 11 years at AOL, most recently as GM of AOL Music Now, its digital music subscription service. He spent four years in advertising, including a stint at Chiat/Day, where he was in charge of the Nissan account. (5/19p)
