MTV book

VIDEO FILLS THE JOURNALISM STARS’ WALLETS: Former Blender editors Craig Marks and Rob Tannenbaum have a deal to write an oral history of MTV's golden age for Dutton. Tannenbaum—now at Playboy, where he conducted that “Did he really say that?” interview woth John Mayer—told Page Six: "We'll be retracing the network's rise from a 1981 launch to its 1992 rejection of music programming in favor of reality TV, and it'll be published in time for MTV's 30th anniversary." Tom Freston, who ran the network, and Duran Duran, who were MTV's first homemade superstars, have already agreed to interviews. (5/21a)
