VMA Update

VMA UPDATE: Last time we saw Kanye West at the MTV VMAs, he was interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech, unleashing a media backlash. Now, he’s one of the first two acts named to perform at this year’s 2010 ceremony, at the Nokia Theater in L.A., Sunday, Sept. 12. Universal Republic act Florence + the Machine will perform their Video of the Year nominee, “Dog Days Are Over,” giving UMG the first two slots, ironic considering the way the label pulled their videos online as the dispute between Vevo and the channel erupted earlier this week. First presenters named include Nicki Minaj, Emma Stone, Penn Badgley, Trey Songz, Selena Gomez and Ne-Yo. (8/12p)
