SONGWRITERS GET THEIR DUE: The Songwriters Hall of Fame Gallery, an exhibit highlighting contributions of writers and their relationship with the recording industry, will be launched at L.A. Live’s Grammy Museum on Oct. 19. The Gallery will include interactive writing collaboration kiosks and video highlights from the SHOF’s annual awards and induction ceremonies. The org was started in 1969 by Capitol Records co-founder Johnny Mercer, along with publishers Abe Olman and songwriter Hal David. David, along with Lamont Dozier, Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson, Mac Davis and ASCAP’s Paul Williams will be on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and an in-the-round performance at the Museum’s Clive Davis Theater. Jimmy Webb will be interviewed by journo Paul Grein and perform on Oct. 20, while Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil will conduct a master songwriting class on Oct. 21. (10/12a)
