The Priests and the Pogue
FORGIVE THEM FATHER, FOR THEY HAVE SINNED: In the spirit of such unlikely holiday musical pairings as Bing Crosby and David Bowie, The Priests and The Pogues’ Shane MacGowan have teamed on a version of “Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth,” on the former’s third RCA Victor album, NOEL. Ordained Catholic priests Father Eugene O’Hagan, his brother Martin and old school friend David Delargy make up the hit international musical act, which has sold 3 million albums worldwide. Said MacGowan: “The Priests are very talented singers and the track sounds good and hopefully people like it. We changed some of the lyrics from the original and we like it the way it is.” How much egg nog was consumed during the recording wasn’t revealed. (11/8p)
