Video-On-Demand for Tower Heist

VOD HEIST? Universal Pictures and parent company Comcast are teaming up for a historic test of video-on-demand when they make Brett Ratner’s new movie, Tower Heist, available for $59.99 just three weeks after it debuts in theaters on Nov. 4. About 500,000 Comcast digital cable subscribers in Atlanta and Portland are being included in the test. Four studios, including Universal, have already made DirectTV deals to put in place video-on-demand 60 days after the film premiered in theaters for $29.99. (10/5p)
