BOXING IT UP: Puss in Boots licked the competition on its second weekend with $33 million in receipts, off only 3%. The Paramount/DreamWorks Animation picture averaged $8,336 in 3,963 theaters. The debuting Eddie Murphy-Ben Stiller comedy Tower Heist (Universal) underperformed with $25.1 million, averaging $7,455 on 3,367 screens. A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas, (Warner Bros./New Line), the only other new movie in wide release, languished in the #3 spot with $13m. Paramount’s Paranormal Activity 3 was #4 with $8.5 million ($2,594; 3,286), and in fifth place was the Fox/New Regency sci-fi picture In Time with $7.7 million on its second weekend.
