Garner Leaving Universal Republic

GARNER MOVING ON: Eighteen-year Universal Republic SVP Marketing Kim Garner, one of the first executives recruited by Doug Morris in 1995 to launch the new label, is leaving the company to explore new opportunities. Among her recent successes are Florence + the Machine, Jack Johnson, Colbie Caillat, Goyte, Mayer Hawthorne and the late Amy Winehouse. Said Garner: “It has been a difficult decision, but after considerable reflection, I will continue working closely with artists and building careers and partnerships, which is what I do best. It has been a great pleasure to work with Monte and Avery all these years and the great team at Republic.” After a sojourn in India, she’ll be back Feb. 1. Reach her at [email protected] or at (917) 968-5781. (1/3p)
