U2 Documentary Out on Blu-Ray, DVD

SKY PILOTS: From the Sky Down, the documentary film about the making of U2’s Achtung Baby, will be released in the U.S. on Blu-ray and DVD Jan. 24. The Davis Guggenheim (It Might Get Loud, An Inconvenient Truth, Waiting for Superman)–directed film captures the band returning to Hansa Studios in Berlin to discuss the making of the album on the eve of its 20th anniversary. Originally screened in the U.K. as part of the BBC’s Imagine series, From the Sky Down was the first-ever documentary to open the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie uses animation and previously unreleased footage shot in Berlin and Dublin to mark the making of the album. See the trailer below. (1/17p)
