Tesoriero Upped to SVP at Island

GOOD FOR GABE: Gabe Tesoriero has been promoted to SVP Media and Artist Relations for Island Def Jam Music Group by EVP Laura Swanson. The N.Y.-based Tesoriero will lead initiatives for the label’s roster of artists, including Kanye West, Rihanna, Nas, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, The-Dream, The Roots, Big Boi, Big Sean, Fabolous and Pusha-T, among others. These duties include exposure on television, the Internet and in print media. Tesoriero was previously VP Media and Artist Relations for the label since 2008, having started at the company in 2005, as Sr. Director. Prior to IDJ, Tesoriero served as Senior Account Executive for JLM Public Relations, starting in 1998, working with clients such as VP (Sean Paul, Beenie Man, Buju Banton) and Roc-A-Fella Records, working with Kanye from the beginning of his career. Gabe graduated from NYU with a Bachelor of Arts in American Literature & Creative Writing, which comes in handy when he’s composing press releases, but still doesn’t explain where he went wrong.
