HOT WEEKEND IN THE INDIE CITY: The organizers of the indie-than-thou 2012 Pitchfork Music Festival have just revealed the first batch of bands booked for the seventh annual iteration of the event, set for July 13-15 at Chicago’s Union Park. And they are… Vampire Weekend, Feist, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Hot Chip, Cloud Nothings, black metal band Liturgy, rappers A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar, underground producer AraabMUZIK, EDM outfits The Field and Grimes, ambient-drone purveyor Tim Hecker and Chicago-based singer/songwriter Willis Earl Beal. The final lineup will comprise 30+ additional acts, to be announced closer to the fest. Tickets go on sale next Friday (3/9) at www.pitchforkmusicfestival.com, with single-day ducats going for $45 and three-day passes priced at $110. The fest draws 50k every summer. (2/29a)
