A TALE OF TWO CITIES: Pulse Recording and newly formed Creative Nation have announced the formation of an exclusive partnership between the two companies for talent and songwriting. This relationship brings together Nashville and L.A. with the intention of formulating a new breed of pop and country acts with multiple levels of crossover potential, according to the press release. Creative Nation’s Barry Dean is the first songwriter to be signed to the venture. Pulse Recording’s roster that has delivered such hits as Lady Gaga’s "Born This Way" and "The Edge of Glory"; Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream,” "California Gurls," "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)" and "Part of Me"; Taio Cruz’s "Dynamite"; and Neon Trees’ "Animal.” Said Pulse’s Scott Cutler: "I’ve always been a big fan of Luke Laird’s unique approach to songwriting. He is capable of straddling multiple genres of music, which is a unique quality we look for in a creative partner [Laird has co-written nine #1 Country singles in the last five years].
