You Weakend Box Office Rundown

BOND SALES: Skyfall, the 23rd and latest installment in MGM/Sony's lucrative James Bond franchise, racked up a record $87.8 million for the 007 series in its first weekend in stateside theaters, lifting the worldwide total for the film to $520 million, and topping both previous Daniel Craig versions. In limited release, Steven Spielberg and Daniel Day-Lewis' Oscar-worthy Lincoln took in $900k in just 11 theaters for a per-screen average of $82k, topping Bond’s $25k in 3,505 theaters. Overall domestic revenues totaled $172 million, up 26% from the same weekend last year. For the year, domestic revenues are at $9.1 billion, up 4.3% from 2011. The rest of the Top 5 included Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph, which dipped from #1 to #2 with $33.1 million for a two-week total of $94m, Paramount’s Flight ($15m/$48m in two weeks), Warner Bros.'
