Pearl Jam, Guns N' Roses Members Join Forces

PEARL GUN: Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready and former Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan have formed a new, as yet unnamed, supergroup with ex-Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin. The band is looking to tap multiple vocalists to complete the line-up. McCready and Martin were previously in the ‘90s group Mad Season with the late Alice in Chains singer Layne Staley. The two unearthed some unreleased Mad Season demos for the aborted second album to work on with new vocalists. Killing Joke’s Jaz Coleman has been mentioned as a possible collaborator. Mad Season’s one and only album, Above, is being reissued by Legacy on April 2. McKagan and Martin also play together in a band called Walking Papers. McCready worked with the group on their debut album last year. (3/1p)
