Walsh in the Studio with Some Friends

WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM HIS FRIENDS: Who brought the pot brownies? Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh put a sign up at Capitol Records' famed Studio A, “Cooking up something here... I think you’ll like it.” Anyway, here’s the group which gathered to record a new song co-written by bassist Tal Wilkenfeld, known for her work with Jeff Beck, which will be on the legendary rocker’s upcoming album for Blue Note Records. Pictured before calling out for pizzas and charging them to Steve Barnett’s office are several of the tune’s other authors (which also include Bill Withers) (l-r): Keb’ Mo’, producer/Blue Note head Don Was, Wilkenfeld, keyboardist Mike Finnegan, Walsh, brother-in-law Ringo Starr and Jim Keltner. Walsh hits the road on Bob Seger’s “Rock and Roll Never Forgets” tour March 27. (3/15p)
