iTunes Radio, preparing to launch...

WHERE ARE THEY HIDING IT? It’s funny how iTunes Radio, a looming behemoth in the eyes of the music biz, is but an afterthought or asterisk in the big world. To wit, Walt Mossberg’s rave review of the iPhone 5S in The Wall Street Journal has this to say about the new entry in the streaming wars: “In iTunes, there's now a Pandora-like radio feature.” That’s how much Walt cares. Outside the music sector, the big story is iOS 7, said to be the most significant redesign of Apple’s mobile operating system since 2007, which hits today as a free upgrade, bringing iTunes Radio along with it—as the above screenshot from apple.com’s iOS 7 page indicates. As of 5:30 AM PT, the message at the top of the page, as well as the site’s iTunes Radio page, still read “Coming soon.” While you're waiting, you can stream Kings of Leon’s Mechanical Bull in its entirety from the iTunes Store.
