MJ verdict

OUR LONG NATIONAL NIGHTMARE IS SORTA OVER: The verdict has been read in the Michael Jackson wrongful death trial. And the jury has found AEG Live not liable for the star's death, finding that although the promoter hired Dr. Conrad Murray, the physician was not incompetent to perform the work for which he was hired. This was the second of five verdict questions, all requiring "yes" answers to get to an award, so the "no" answer to the competency question led directly to an acquittal. The 80-day trial ended with only about two days of deliberation. A "shocker of a verdict," as one TV commentator declared. Ya think? (10/2p)
