TOP 10 TRACKS: “Happy” continues to distance itself from the pack, breaking 400k in the week ending last Sunday (2/23) with a 22% uptick. All that action would seem to nicely set up Pharrell’s first-ever solo album, the ridiculously listenable G I R L—streaming on iTunes Radio leading up to its 3/3 release—which just happens to be the day after he performs “Happy” on the Oscars telecast. But as I.B. Bad points out in his upcoming column, Pharrell’s massive momentum hasn’t yet translated to album sales on the pre-order. It should also be noted (so we will) that Katy’s “Dark Horse” isn’t going to the glue factory any time soon, as the smash racks up another quarter-million digits. Ditto for Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty,” while John Legend’s “All of Me” is the Top 10’s biggest gainer with +28%.
1. Pharrell Williams, “Happy” – 402k
2. Katy Perry f/Juicy J, “Dark Horse” – 251k
3. Jason Derulo f/2 Chainz, “Talk Dirty” – 247k
4. John Legend, “Let Her Go” – 203k
5. Bastille, “Pompeii” – 142k
6. Aloe Blacc, “The Man” – 133k
7. Idina Menzel, “Let It Go” – 125k
8. A Great Big World f/Xtina, “Say Something” – 119k
9. Pitbull f/Ke$ha, “Timber” – 112k
10. Lorde, “Team” – 111k
Just below the big board, several tracks keep knocking on the door, specifically the #14-17 entries: DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What,” Avicii’s “Hey Brother,” Tegan and Sara’s “Everything Is Awesome” (caps and exclamation points optional) and American Authors’ “Best Day of My Life.” (2/27a)
