Together PANGEA at Troubadour

TALES FROM A HITS HENCH-HIPSTER: Harvest band together PANGEA, whom you may recall from our last New and Developing Artists issue, filled the Troubadour with flailing limbs and thick sweat last night. Frontman William Keegan opened the show screaming, “Happy Birthday, everybody! Friday night!” It was a Thursday, but something tells me he knew that. The band drew heavily on their album Badillac (which dropped early this year); favorite tracks of the night included “Sick Shit” (performed in the clip above), the plaintive "Why," the country tune “Love & Alcohol” and a bit of The Cranberries’ “Zombie.” The scene featured moshers of all shapes and sizes, many strange piercings, DIY tattoos and ironically worn tye-dye footie pajamas, which probably aren't too breathable. Regardless of outerwear, it’s great to hear down n' dirty surf-punk garage-rock on Santa Monica Blvd. If you score Badillac on vinyl at a show, you'll get a Harvest-branded condom with the words “My Dick Is Soft” on it.
