Pentatonix sign w/RCA

MUSIC WITH THEIR MOUTHS: A cappella fivesome Pentatonix, having sold more than a half-million albums as an indie act and earned 445 million YouTube views for a fleet of performance videos, has signed with RCA Records. You'll recall that the quintet's PTXmas sold briskly throughout the last holiday season. vaulting to the top of the iTunes chart; their covers of material by artists like Imagine Dragons and Daft Punk, meanwhile, have helped make theirs the #61 most subscribed-to YouTube channel. RCA President/COO Tom Corson declared the label thrilled, adding ,"Pentatonix is unique to our business and we look forward to working with them as we take their talents to new and exciting heights everywhere in the world. And I can't wait to show them my dynamite rendition of 'Sweet Adeline.'" Pentatonix's sold-out European tour winds up this week. (5/13a)
