Michael Martin

EYE ON RADIO: Michael Martin has been named SVP, Programming and Music Initiatives by CBS Radio, EVP Programming Chris Olivero announced on 6/30. The San Francisco-based Martin is currently PD of KLLC and KMVQ, and will retain his programming responsibilities at the two stations. In the newly created post, Martin will be the firm’s lead liaison with the biz at all formats, working with format VPs and PDs. He’ll also be charged with development and integration of music content for live and the Radio.com digital platform. Olivero praised Martin's “deep understanding of radio and its audience, coupled with solid relationships in the business and an unmatched enthusiasm for all things music.”Martin arrived at CBS in 2009, having served as PD at KYSR, KMEL, KYLD and KIOI, among other stations; he began his career as MD at KIIS and became SVP West Coast programming for Clear Channel and OM for its L.A. cluster. Per tradition, he will have the CBS “eye” logo tattooed on his butt. (6/30p)
