BMG tops in Germany

A TEUTONIC TRIUMPH: BMG has emerged, in the first six months of 2014, as the top pubco in Germany. With a nearly 21% share of the singles chart there, the company has edged out its much larger competitors; this marks the first time the company has taken the top spot in a major territory (its share of the German market was 11.5% in 2013). Mr. Probz and producer team The Krauts (we shit you not) were among the writers powering the company's German putsch, er, surge. CEO Hartwig Masuch called it "the latest in a series of continuing milestones for BMG as we realize our vision of creating a new kind of artist-centric company." He then climbed in a tank and rolled off in the direction of the former Czechoslovakia. (7/7p)
