DOWNLOAD THIS: Just how #1 is 5 Seconds of Summer’s Capitol debut album at the iTunes store? So #1 that it spills over to #2. That’s not surprising considering the band’s appeal and the label’s expertly conceived and executed marketing plan, which should combine for a first-week total in the neighborhood of a quarter million. Otherwise, it’s odd not to see Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran on the albums leaderboard, but never fear, kids, they’ll be right back—think of this as a quick bathroom break. Sam’s “Stay With Me” remains a force of nature on the singles Top 10, which also features the first appearance of Harvest newcomer Banks (who also has the #1 Alternative single). All in all, a satisfying midsummer day for the occupants of the Capitol Tower. (7/22a)
