Turtles go after Pandora now

THE SPIRIT OF ’72: After a favorable judgment against SiriusXM in federal court last week, Flo & Eddie are going after Pandora: The former Turtles filed a class-action suit yesterday against the online radio operator in federal court in L.A., accusing Pandora of copyright infringement under California law for playing its records without permission and without paying. The suit mirrors the successful one against SiriusXM, citing a 1982 state law that sought to extend copyright protection to recordings released before Feb. 15, 1972, correcting the federal law passed on that day. The suit asks for $25m+. The judge in the SiriusXM ruling hasn’t yet set the amount the satellite radio giant must pay as a result of that ruling. (10/3a)
