Basement Tapes

LOST AND FOUND: Capitol honcho Steve Barnett welcomed friends and fam of Capitol, Harvest Records and T Bone Burnett's Electromagnetic Records to the Hollywood ArcLight last night for a special screening of Lost Songs: The Basement Tapes Continued. Notable movie-goers included Barnett, Burnett, doc director Sam Jones, Piero Giramonti, Jacqueline Saturn, Greg Thompson, Michelle Jubelirer, Mike Flynn, KROQ's Kat Corbett, KCRW's Chris Muckley & Tobi Lynn and Showtime's Robin Gurney. In the flick, Burnett manages to get his magic mitts on some unpublished Bob Dylan lyrics circa the Basement Tapes era. He then taps Elvis Costello, Marcus Mumford, My Morning Jacket's Jim James, Dawes' Taylor Goldsmith & Carolina Chocolate Drops' Rhiannon Giddens to work the words into songs. The charming film that affords "a chance to collaborate with a 27-year-old Dylan...with 50 years of hindsight" (Burnett) invites music junkies into the Tower to be a part of the creative process. The 103-minute film is set to air 11/21 on Showtime, and the album, Lost on the River, is due on Harvest 11/10. (10/30p)
