He’s one of three newcomers to bow in the Top 50, joining Mute/Capitol’s Depeche Mode (#3) and SRC/Universal Motown’s Asher Roth (#4).
Last week’s chart-topping Disney Records soundtrack to Hannah Montana: The Movie (#2) and Lyric Street’s Rascal Flatts (#5) round out the leader board.
Chop Shop/Atlantic’s Twilight soundtrack lands at #6, followed by Interscope’s Lady GaGa, up 11% at #7, UMe’s Now 30 at #8, Bad Boy/Atlantic’s Day26 at #9 and Def Jam/IDJ’s Jadakiss at #10.
Roadrunner’s Theory of a Deadman leads all double-digit gainers for the week, moving #31-28, up 25%, with Columbia’s Adele (#45, +19%), RCA/RMG’s Kings of Leon (#19-15, +18%), Atlantic’s Shinedown (#41, +16%), A&M/Octone’s Hollywood Undead (#40, +12%), Columbia’s Beyonce (#19, +11%) and Atlantic’s Zac Brown Band (#23, +10%).
Next major releases on tap include Columbia’s Bob Dylan, with a likely #1 debut, and Ice Age/Asylum’s Mike Jones, which hit the street today; LaFace/JLG’s Ciara, going to retail on May 5; and Diplomat/Asylum’s Cam’ron, Hollywood’s Marie Digby and Swishahouse/Asylum’s Paul Wall on May 12.
Green Day’s 21st Century Breakdown hits on Friday, May 15, just four days before the scheduled May 19 bow of Eminem’s Relapse on Shady/Aftermath/Interscope though, considering the history of his releases, that may well be moved up as well.
