AOL MUSIC PLAYS PICK SIX

A Half Dozen New Acts Designated as Breaker Artists Following The Game and John Legend
On the heels of big debut albums from AOL Music Breaker artists The Game and John Legend, America Online will announce six new artists to its Breakers program this afternoon. The selected acts are rock bands Acceptance (Columbia) and The Bravery (Island), singer-songwriter Brie Larson (Casablanca), R&B/pop vocalist Brooke Valentine (Virgin), soul singer Keyshia Cole (Interscope) and Shooter Jennings, son of Waylon (Universal South). These artists will be featured on aolmusic.com and across the AOL Music and Radio Networks.

Said Jack Isquith, whose job title is slightly smaller than the state of Rhode Island: “AOL Music is dedicated to breaking new music, and growing our Breakers program into the industry's premiere artist development program. By taking new artists and treating them as superstars across AOL Music, we are able to engage our audience in the process of discovering and interacting with new music. Previous Breakers campaigns with artists like John Legend, The Game and Josh Groban have proven to us that this AOL Music audience is hungry to hear great new music, and eager to play a big part in creating a new generation of stars.”

Since The Game and Legend were named AOL Music Breaker artists last September, The Game’s music, videos and Sessions@AOL performance were played by over 4.1 million fans, while more than 1.2 million fans checked out Legend’s music. That ongoing exposure surely factored into the massive debut last week for The Game’s Documentary (G Unit/Aftermath/Interscope), which debuted at #1, moving 611k units, as well as the #7 debut of Legend’s album, Get Lifted (Columbia), the first week of the year.

Acceptance’s debut album, Phantoms, hits April 26, with first single "Different” premiering on AOL Music. The Bravery's debut self-titled album will be released on March 29. The first album from 14-year-old singer/actress Brie Larsoncomes out March 22. Brooke Valentine’s first single, "Girlfight," featuring Lil' Jon and Big Boi, sets up her March 15 Chain Letter album. Jadakiss, The Neptunes and Alicia Keys appear on Keyshia Cole's debut album, The Way It Is, which gets a March release. Shooter Jennings' debut album, Put The O Back in Country, also streets in March.

AOL Music handpicks promising new artists as Breakers four times a year. Along with the aforementioned artists, former AOL Music Breakers include Avril Lavigne, 50 Cent, Michelle Branch, Jet, Anthony Hamilton and Christina Milian.
