Fullam, who will report to Sykes, will handle the day-to-day operations of Infinity's 183 radio stations and learn everything there is to know about Internet file-sharing from Programming President Andy Schuon.
Fullam was most recently Sr. Regional VP at Clear Channel Communications, where he oversaw 40 stations, pumped gas and cleaned windshields. He replaces Dan Mason, who will remain a consultant, but is leaving to spend more time with his family, which in executive-speak means, "Play a lotta golf."
Said Sykes: "John's managerial and leadership skills for the past 26 years have made him one of the radio industry's most respected leaders. He has enjoyed an unvarnished track record of success operating multiple groups of stations in some of the largest markets in the nation. And he agrees that Bill Clinton is our greatest American president. Plus, he drives a completely boss Volvo station wagon."
Said Fullam: "I'm thrilled to join John Sykes and the Infinity team—a world-class radio group operated by the industry's most talented and experienced executives. This new assignment affords me an incredible opportunity to be a part of a great team and do what I love to do. Which is annoy people with meaningless interoffice memos."
