SOUTH IS UNIVERSAL TO VAN

Fletcher a Fit for New Nashville Gig

There’s more action down in Music City.

“Los Van” Van Fletcher has been appointed Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Universal South, the joint venture recently formed by veteran Nashville execs Tony Brown “Shoes Don’t Make It” and Tim “Don’t Call Him Blanche” DuBois.

Fletcher will develop and implement sales and marketing campaigns for label artists including Allison Moorer, Dean Miller, Bering Strait, Joe Nichols and Holly Lamar, as well as fill the office water coolers with moonshine.

Brown commented: “Van is a remarkably creative music executive who wholeheartedly shares our vision for the company…especially since we put him on the payroll.”

Added DuBois: “Van’s energy, skillful approach and consummate professionalism will be key factors in contributing to the success of our artists as we move forward. I just wish he’d stop wearing that cowboy hat to marketing meetings.”

Said Fletcher: “To be an integral part of starting a new, versatile music label that the industry has not seen in many, many years is very special to me. Now where do I hitch my horse?”

Fletcher was previously Virgin Records Nashville Exec. VP/GM and, prior to that, PGD Sr. VP Sales & Branch Distribution.
