FOUR FOR THE SHOW!!!

Eminem Tops Again; Korn and New Found Glory Bow in Top 10
They may have buried reputed crime boss John Gotti last week, but one man—Aftermath/Interscope rhyme syndicate Eminem—is still the capo di tutti capi of the chart mob.

The Eminem Show spends its fourth straight week at the head of the HITS Top 50, beating back challenges from Immortal/Epic’s Korn, whose Untouchables album put up a spirited battle for the #1 slot before settling in at #2, and surprise #4 finisher, Drive-Thru/MCA emo-punks New Found Glory, who approached 100k in first-week sales.

Wherehouse Music buyer Bob Bell acknowledged the huge number for Korn, pointing out it would have been a #1 debut in a "normal" week: "With Eminem, the last few weeks have been anything but normal, though." Bell, of course, is an expert on the abnormal.

He also commended the "spectacular" breakthrough debut for New Found Glory: "Drive Thru and MCA really know their punk-rock. This will be a huge wake-up call to any radio stations that weren’t playing them."

WMG/BMG’s Totally Hits 2002 maintained at #3, while Bad Boy/Arista man for all seasons P. Diddy continued his roll at #5.

Arista skate-punk chanteuse Avril Lavigne showed remarkable staying power in her second week, with Let Go actually increasing 10k in sales and moving up a notch to #7. Along with P. Diddy and Pink (#17), Avril gives label boss L.A. Reid two in the Top 10 and three in the Top 20.

On the singer/songwriter tip, Aware/Columbia’s John Mayer (#23), Blue Note’s Norah Jones (#28) and Enjoy/Universal’s Jack Johnson (#45) all saw double-digit sales increases, as did Flawless/Geffen/Interscope’s Puddle of Mudd (#32), DreamWorksJimmy Eat World (#33) and Wind-up’s Creed (#40). Epic’s the Osbourne Family Album debuted at #13.

Next week, DreamWorksPapa Roach steps up to take Em and Korn to the mattresses.
