URI GELLER BLASTS CENSORSHIP ON JACKSON CD

Israeli Psychic Says Label Removed Religious Words and Symbols From Picture He Drew for Michael's New Album

Guess bending spoons with his mind is not enough.

Psychic Uri Geller claims Sony Music removed religious words and symbols from a picture he drew for the CD booklet of Michael Jackson's new Epic album, Invincible, which hit stores on Tuesday.

Jackson's new album is set to debut at #1 on this Tuesday's charts.

Geller, a one-time Israeli paratrooper renowned for his "amazing" mental powers, told Reuters that Sony Music had taken out the words "God," "Jerusalem," "USA" and "Angel 2000" and had replaced a Star of David with a pentagram.

"The sensitivity of not wanting any religious symbols in my drawing I found quite extraordinary because God is universal," said Geller. "I went along with it because I understood that one of the removed items is a very Jewish symbol and Michael is an international pop star."

Jackson had previously been in hot water with Jewish organizations because of allegedly anti-Semitic lyrics.

Geller originally sketched the detailed black-and-white illustration on a napkin while in Jackson's New York hotel room last year. The two are close pals, with Jackson serving as Geller's best man at the psychic's wedding near London in March—although he arrived two hours late.

The picture, the only illustration other than Jackson's picture in the CD booklet, features the heads of a man and woman, the pyramics, a UFO and symbols representing love, peace and hope.

Geller said Sony technicians spent two days scanning the picture for hidden obscenities. The Hebrew letter Shin, used to symbolize God, was left in the picture.

Hey, if Geller's such a prophet, how come he couldn't have foreseen the problem before handing in the drawing? Hey, just asking
