SAY IT AIN’T SO, VIC
Damone Closes Career With "Farewell To Remember"
Say goodbye to Vic Damone.
The singer whose songs include "On the Street Where You Live," "Gigi," "You're Breaking My Heart" and "On The South Side Of Chicago" is retiring after a 53-year career that started in 1947 with the hit "I Have But One Heart."
"It has been an incredible, thrilling journey, but all good things must come to an end," Damone said Friday (4/14). "It has always been important to me that I give audiences the very best of what I have. And I've always wanted to go out at the top of my game."
Damone, 71, will close his career with a final national tour "A Farewell to Remember," starting May 27 at the Westbury Music Fair. His final concert will be May 18, 2001, at Carnegie Hall.
