CAMDEN PAVES THE WAY FOR STARS
11/14/18

London is getting a musical version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame with 400 paving stones featuring legends set to be laid out over the next 20 years in Camden. The Clash, Amy Winehouse, Madness and Prince are expected to be among those remembered.

The Music Walk of Fame will follow a 1.3 mile stretch between two venues, the Roundhouse and Koko, in the area that was once a musicians’ stomping ground but is now more of a tourist hub. Visitors will be able to access the stories behind the names through a free app that will display info on each plaque.

A test stone is set to arrive in February, and events and concerts are planned to mark the unveilings. Those honoured will be international icons, influencers, industry figures, innovators and unsung heroes, as chosen by a voting panel of musicians, press, key music industry figures, local representatives and Camden Council. In addition, two public votes will celebrate new music talent.
