MOLLY TUTTLE’S COLORFUL RENDITION
8/21/20

Award-winning singer/songwriter Molly Tuttle has released her cover of The Rolling Stones’ “She’s a Rainbow,” along with an accompanying star-studded video.

Featuring appearances by the likes of Tom Morello, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Ketch Secor, Taylor Goldsmith, Chris Shiflett, Sierra Hull, Linda Perry and more, the video expresses Tuttle’s beliefs around feminism and the fight for equality. “I don’t know what The Rolling Stones had in mind when they sang this one, but for me it’s a love song to all feminine beings. 'She comes in colors everywhere, she’s like a rainbow!!' YES!” Shared Tuttle.

The rendition arrives ahead of Tuttle’s forthcoming full-length album, …but i’d rather be with you, which is due on 8/28 via Compass Records. The collection encompasses 10 covers recorded during quarantine and were produced with the help of Tony Berg, who’s worked with artists like Phoebe Bridgers and Andrew Bird. The album includes previously released covers like The National’s “Fake Empire,” Rancid’s “Olympia, WA” and the Grateful Dead’s “Standing on the Moon.”

“I have been working on writing for another original album and am still planning to record that this year,” says Tuttle, “but in the meantime I wanted to share these covers that have lifted my spirits, in hopes that you’ll find some much-needed joy as well.”
