WHAT IT IS: 18-year-old Jenna Raine is full of wide-eyed wonder. A sense of hope has long inspired her intimate, diary-like love songs, which have never been as moving or emotional as they are on her major-label debut, see you later. On the EP, the Texas-born newcomer documents her dreams, capturing the endless possibilities of youth and reminding listeners that life’s growing pains are universal—and best approached with a little positivity. Born during her quest to write 100 songs during lockdown, the EP’s title track, “see you later (ten years),” went viral upon release and hit #1 on Spotify’s Global and U.S. Viral charts. Earlier this year Raine released Big Dumb Heart, Chapter 1, which yielded standout single “Stupid Cupid”; she’s about to drop the follow-up, Big Dumb Heart, Chapter 2.
