Three-time Grammy nominee DOE has officially dropped her self-titled debut EP. Arriving via Jonathan McReynolds’ Life Room Label, in partnership with RCA Inspiration, the collection of songs marks the first solo project from the singer/songwriter.
Led by the EP’s single “Brighter,” DOE also includes four new tracks, “Hey You” with McReynolds, “Good Now,” “Take Me Back” and “I Try,” all of which were written by DOE, McReynolds and the Life Room production team.
“It’s a very vulnerable album for me. It is me talking about my life and what God has shown me, without being super ‘religious.’ I’m going to take this journey hand-in-hand with everyone,” shared DOE.
Additionally, DOE released a new music video for “I Try.” The video premiered on BET Soul, BET Her channels as well as online.
First gaining traction as the lead singer of Forever Jones, DOE released three albums with the group and garnered numerous accolades including two Grammy noms. She garnered her third nom as a featured artist on McReynolds’ hit song “Cycles.” Most recently, she performed on McReynolds’ Those People virtual tour.
