Loma Vista’s electro-pop duo, Sylvan Esso, kick-started their Summer 2018 tour at the iconic Greek Theatre a couple weeks back. The sold-out show was simple on the surface, showcasing the talent of Amelia Meath and Nicholas Sanborn with only a mic and a set of keys. Their lively personalities, however, added a special component to the show. Great stage presence, illuminated by a light engineer who emphasized each song in a way that captured the audience beyond what they could hear, truly made for a standout experience.
Their setlist was a perfect balance between the self-titled freshman album and their most recent release, What Now. Their ritual of asking the crowd to howl before performing “Wolf” carried on, causing the amphitheater to feel cozy and connected. The duo closed with a three-track encore, performing “Slack Jaw,” “Rewind” and “Play It Right.”
While there’s no talk about a new single, the duo's summer tour includes shows around Northern America and Canada. Stay up to date with their upcoming shows here and stream their most recent album below.
