GRACIE TALKS NEW MUSIC IN NYLON COVER STORY

Gracie Abrams has barely had time to breathe amid a breakthrough year on the stage and in the studio, but if it's up to her, a new album would be out by the end of 2025.

That's one of several tidbits to be found in the Interscope star's Nylon cover story, the interview for which took place just after her appearance at the final show of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour and just before her debut performance on Saturday Night Live.

“I am inspired by Taylor in a million ways, but especially by the pace with which she puts things out into the world,” Abrams told Nylon of the in-progress follow-up to this year's The Secret of Us, on which she's working with longtime collaborator Aaron Dessner. “There’s less pressure the more you release—that’s how I consider it for myself. I want to just keep it coming while I’m in this period of writing as frequently as I am. I think it would be a waste to not be open.”

Abrams was initially an opening act for Eras in April 2023, but when she rejoined the tour this past October, just as her single "That's So True" was exploding, she could see first-hand "what one song can do for engagement." "In your head," she continues, "you’re, like, ‘Of course.’ But it’s crazy when you get to see that week-by-week in a stadium. There is something really psychotic about being able to hear voices in the stadium singing sh*t back at you. It’s, like, ‘What the f*ck?’”

The piece also covers such subjects as fan interactions, how her parents have reacted to her success and moving to New York from Los Angeles. Click here for the full story.
