VMG INKS DEAL WITH INDIA'S HUNGAMA

Virgin Music Group is expanding its reach in South Asia via a strategic long-term agreement with India’s Hungama Digital Entertainment.

The deal brings Hungama’s extensive music catalog, including SVF, Grassroute, OTV and numerous film soundtracks under the VMG umbrella.Hungama's library contains over 45 million assets, with a presence on 150 platforms. The overall market in India continues to grow, with digital revenue expected to reach $995m, $531m of that coming from streaming.

Amit Sharma, country manager of India for VMG, said, “We are immensely proud to announce this important partnership with Hungama. This collaboration will expand our reach in India and enable their songs to reach new global audiences, supporting our commitment to artist empowerment and innovation.”
