Kendrick Lamar's surprise drop GNX (pgLang/Interscope) scores a big #1 bow on this week's HITS Top 50, notching 324k+. Verve/Republic's soundtrack to the multiplex-rocking Wicked debuts at #2 with nearly 130k.
GNX racked up 362m+ streams in its opening frame and currently accounts for four of the Top 5 and six of the Top 10 at Spotify U.S. as well as the entire Top 12 at Apple Music. Wicked owes a majority share of its first-week total to pure sales, but climactic cut "Defying Gravity" remains in the Spot's U.S. Top 30 and Apple's Top 25 as of this writing.
Other notable debuts include Riot Games' Arcane League of Legends: Season 2 soundtrack (#22), Marilyn Manson's One Assassination Under God: Chapter 1 (Nuclear Blast) at #31 and Ice Cube's Man Down via Lench Mob/Hitmaker (#39).
The newly available physical iterations of Taylor Swift's THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY (Republic) are now causing a holly-jolly commotion at retail, while a new set from Milk Carton Kids (Far Cry/Thirty Tigers) has arrived just in time to soundtrack your leftover turkey sandwich.
For the most part, though, this Black Friday marks a major pivot to holiday music. You'll note that Michael Bublé's perennial Christmas (Reprise) unwraps almost 32k in activity this week, good for #15, while the likes of UMe's Bing Crosby (#21) and Columbia's Mariah Carey (#25) are turning up in newly hung stockings.
A similar transition is underway at Spotify, with Brenda Lee coming on strong at #7 ("Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree") and Mariah, Bobby Helms, Andy Williams, Dean Martin and other holiday stalwarts positioning themselves under the mistletoe.

Now, if you'll excuse us, we're going to see if we can follow up last night's food coma with a weed-induced fugue state.
