U.K. CHARTS: LINKIN PARK LOCKS IN 4th #1

As expected, Linkin Park has notched its fourth #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with FROM ZERO (Warner Records), its first album with new vocalist Emily Armstrong.

"This is so surreal," said Armstrong, pictured with bandmate Mike Shinoda. "It’s my first #1, so I’m freaking out! I’ll say it a thousand times, and it feels like it’s not enough to say, ‘Thank you.'"

FROM ZERO outsold its top competitor, Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet (Island), by a factor of two to one. Fellow Island artists FLO crash in at #3 with Access All Areas, the highest-charting album in 23 years from a homegrown R&B girl group.

K-pop act ATEEZ starts at #4 with GOLDEN HOUR: Part.2 (KQ Entertainment) after reaching the Top 10 with three prior EPs.

Shawn Mendes' SHAWN opens at #22 (EMI), while a vinyl reissue of Iron Maiden's fifth album, 1984's Powerslave (Parlophone), debuts at #33 in celebration of its 40th anniversary.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles chart, Gracie Abrams’ “That’s So True” (Interscope) enjoys a third week at #1.

Gigi Perez's "Sailor Song" (Island) and ROSÉ and Bruno Mars' "APT." (Atlantic) hold at #2 and 3, respectively. Sam Fender’s “People Watching” (Polydor) is the best debut of his career, at #4. Teddy Swims' "The Door" (Atlantic) remains at #5, and his "Bad Dreams" is right behind it at a new peak of #6. Tate McRae's "2 hands" (Ministry of Sound) is her third Top 10 hit, at #8.

Linkin Park is also making noise here, with "The Emptiness Machine" jumping back into the Top 10, at #10, "Heavy Is the Crown" re-entering at #21 and "Two Faced" debuting at #22.

And a harbinger of things to come, WHAM!'s "Last Christmas" rockets 43-16 and Mariah Carey's inescapable "All I Want for Christmas Is You" rises 38-17.
