Virgin Music Group has struck a partnership with Tokyo-based Bushiroad Music in response to the ever-increasing demand for Japanese culture and content, including gaming and anime. Bushiroad aims to expand its global presence with the deal.
The company's smartphone application/game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! boasts more than 20m users worldwide. VMG plans to support the expansion of Bushiroad Music's overseas business through digital music distribution. The forthcoming sequel series of BanG Dream! Ave Mujica is expected to air on TV in January 2025.
"We are very pleased to collaborate with Bushiroad Music to help share music from their powerful slate of anime programming with new and wider global audiences, including the music from BanG Dream!," VMG/Universal Music Japan Managing Director Masaya Inokuchi said. "We will utilize VMG’s global network to tap into the growing demand for music from Japanese content worldwide, sharing Bushiroad’s creative vision with the world, through their music and visionary content."
Meanwhile, we continue to have zero creative vision.
