GIBBS GOES AWAL

Freddie Gibbs has signed a deal with AWAL, coinciding with the surprise drop of his latest album, You Only Die 1nce, the follow-up to 2022's $oul $old $eparately.

"It’s refreshing to partner with talent the caliber of Freddie as we expand our roster within the realms of hip-hop and R&B," said AWAL CEO Lonny Olinick. "Excited for what’s to come."

Added Gibbs, "Happy to be where they want me. I feel celebrated."

You Only Die 1nce was executive-produced by Gibbs, manager Ben “Lambo” Lambert, AWAL SVP/Head of Urban Music Norva Denton and Pops.

Pictured about to go AWOL on our asses—as so many subjects of our coverage do—are (l-r) Lambert, Gibbs and Denton.
