U.K. CHARTS: TYLER, GIGI SCORE FIRST #1s

Tyler, the Creator has his first U.K. Official Albums #1 with CHROMAKOPIA (Columbia), and on the singles tally, Gigi Perez lands her debut chart-topper, “Sailor Song” (Island).

CHROMAKOPIA edged ahead of its competition in the final 24 hours. It was a tight race, as Courteneers wound up fewer than 800 in sales behind with Pink Cactus Café (Ignition), which lands at #2.

Bastille frontman Dan Smith’s new album, “&” (Ampersand) (EMI), opens at #4. Tears for Fears have a seventh U.K. Top 10 album with the combo live/studio collection Songs for a Nervous Planet (Concord) at #6.

Eminem’s former #1, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) (Interscope), returns to the Top 10 at #8 following the physical release of its Expanded Mourner’s Edition.

Cartoon Darkness (Rough Trade) by Amyl & the Sniffers is their first Top 10 entry, at #9. Queen’s first studio album, Queen I (Virgin), enters the Top 10 for the first time, at #10, thanks to a huge boxed-set released for its 50th anniversary.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, “Sailor Song” rises one place to hit the top after three weeks in the Top 10 and 5m streams over the last seven days. Perez’s first entry on the chart, it ends the 21-week reign of labelmate Sabrina Carpenter.

“APT.” (Atlantic) by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars is up two to #2, while Gracie Abrams nets two Top 5 singles this week with “That’s So True” (Interscope) up 16 to #3 and “I Love You, I’m Sorry” holding at #4.

Lady Gaga, who was leading the singles race midweek, settles for today’s highest new entry instead, with “Disease” (Interscope) bowing at #7.

Addison Rae’s “Diet Pepsi” (Columbia) is up two to #10, and “The Door” (Warner Records) by Teddy Swims rises one to #12.
