Tension isn’t always a bad thing—just ask Alistair Norbury. With Kylie Minogue’s Tension II having recently reached #1 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart, Norbury is adding oversight of APAC and Europe to his existing remit as President of BMG U.K.
The project was Minogue’s fifth consecutive U.K. chart-topper since inking with BMG seven years ago. It comes amid a slew of recent successes for the company, including Top 4 U.K. album chart debuts for Soft Play, Travis and The Script, and a #1 for Blossoms’ Gary.
Norbury is also savoring new releases from icons such as Pixies (The Night the Zombies Came) and Bryan Ferry, whose Retrospective: Selected Recordings 1973-2023 is his first career-spanning solo collection.
In addition, BMG Publishing artist English Teacher won the Mercury Prize in September for its album This Could Be Texas.
If you need HITS, we’ll be lightly humming “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” to ourselves.
