Hurricane Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm around 8:30pm Wednesday near Siesta Key in Sarasota County, Florida. Milton was downgraded Wednesday afternoon after spending most of the day as a Category 4. Nonetheless, the storm has caused and continues to cause widespread damage and power outages to the state’s midsection.
Rescue efforts have been hampered by a flood of politicized misinformation, but FEMA is on the ground in full force helping the storm’s many victims.
We know that this has been a particularly terrible season for the area, and we're thinking about you. So we’re reaching out to everyone who’s been impacted to say: Hang in there, stay safe and please check in.
