Island co-heads Imran Majid and Justin Eshak can safely pop the prosecco as breakout stars Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan occupy the top two spots on the HITS Top 50 for the first time with Short n' Sweet and The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.
It's yet another in a string of remarkable achievements for the resurgent label, which has shepherded Carpenter and Roan to new commercial heights this year.
Majid and Eshak don't just sit behind their desks, though—both were on hand for Carpenter's 9/29 show at Madison Square Garden with their young families, who sang along loudly before the kids eventually conked out on Dad's shoulder.
Carpenter has four tracks in the Top 15 at Spotify U.S., with "Taste" at #2, "Espresso" at #7, "Bed Chem" at #9 and "Please Please Please" at #11. Roan's "Good Luck, Babe!" is #4 there and her "HOT TO GO!" is #12. The songs are performing at nearly that level on the streamer's global roundup.
Roan will be in action this weekend and next at Austin City Limits and debuted a wicked cover of Heart's "Barracuda" at a show last night (10/3) in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
She and Carpenter are also likely bound for multiple Grammy nominations next month, with the latter's AEG-promoted Short n' Sweet Tour continuing to drive streams and sales as it traverses North America through an 11/17-18 finale in Los Angeles.
Sadly, HITS remains a dollar short and 13,870 days late on the sweet.
