U.K. CHARTS: SNOW PATROL'S COMEBACK, SABRINA'S RECORD

With The Forest Is the Path (Polydor), Snow Patrol (pictured) has its first U.K. Official Albums #1 since 2006’s Eyes Open, while London Grammar lands at #3 with The Greatest Love (Ministry of Sound).

Following the release of its Expanded Mourner’s Edition, Eminem’s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) (Interscope) rebounds back into the Top 5, at #5.

BRAT (Atlantic) by Charli xcx returns to the Top 10 by climbing six positions to #8. Further down, a 10-year anniversary reissue of Catfish and the Bottlemen’s debut, The Balcony (Island), debuts at #25.

On the U.K. singles chart, Sabrina Carpenter claims one month straight at the top with “Taste” (Island), giving her a record-breaking 16 weeks total at #1 in a single calendar year for a female solo artist. The late Olivia Newton-John strung together 16 weeks at the summit in 1978 thanks two Grease duets with John Travolta, “You’re the One That I Want” (nine weeks) and “Summer Nights” (seven weeks).

Following her viral performance at last week’s MTV Video Music Awards, Chappell Roan returns to her prior peak of #2 with “Good Luck, Babe!” (Island). Her “HOT TO GO!” also reaches a new high, #9, and “Pink Pony Club” makes its debut at #21.

“Die With a Smile” (Atlantic/Interscope) by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars is up one to #5. The Weeknd’s latest single, “Dancing in the Flames” (Republic), is this week’s highest new entry, at #12.
