Stevie Wonder will embark on a short, 10-date tour next month inspired by the name of his new Republic single, “Can We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart" and the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
The AEG-promoted shows, dubbed Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart and concentrated in swing states, begin 10/8 in Pittsburgh and stretch through 10/30 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Booked by longtime agent Rob Light at CAA, Wonder will be offering an allotment of free tickets to "those in our communities who are already working tirelessly to fix our nation’s broken heart."
The Motown legend, 74, has long been active in Democratic politics and recently performed at the party's nominating convention in Chicago. He is a prior recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
The upcoming tour is the fruit of AEG's new partnership with Tim Hinshaw's Free Lunch, a multifaceted creative shop focused on bridging the gap between Black culture and corporate America. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (9/20).
